Stress Relief for Women – My PBOD

by | Jan 11, 2017 | Mental Health, Physical Health

Decreasing stress during these uncertain times is critical for good health. Stress is linked to major illnesses, heart disease, cancer, and depression. One of the ways I relieve stress is by creating a “Personal Board of Directors” (PBOD).

My PBOD are people that play a significant role in my life. They continue to help me discover/rediscover my natural strengths. They advise, share knowledge, and support me while creating a meaningful life.PBOD is similar to “tribe” or your “peeps.

My PBDO are close friends, family members, and professional people that genuinely want the best for me. We don’t have monthly meetings. They don’t have a title. I check in with my PBOD anytime I need help.Dolly Parton says, “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” My PBDO help me walk through the rain.

While Getting older, my PBOD are people that help me maintain healthy living. I now have specialists that know how to keep my body and mind strong. It’s okay to ask for help.

Remember

  1. You deserve to ask for support.
  2. Your close friends want to help you.
  3. You can’t be an expert or know everything. No “superwoman” this year ok?
  4. Let go and let people enjoy your life journey.

Tomorrow is not promised. Make today count to live a meaningful life.

Peace and Blessings,

Dr. Barbara
